‘He is my only child, also my dearest family, I am waiting he to call me ‘Mom.’

A single mother from Kelantan divorced from her husband when the child was two years old and then she raised the child by herself. However, the child is 5 years old now, she still could not hear the child call out "Mom".

When the child was 1 year old, the mother suspected that he could not hear. The mother brought the son for examination for several years, they were told that the child’s development was relatively slow compared to others. However, he was diagnosed with hearing loss when he was 4 years old. The single mother could not afford the child's artificial cochlear implant cost. She seeks for public’s help for donation so that her child can hear the sound.

Muhammad Harraz Firdaus Bin Shamsulhad, Kelantan, when he was 1 years old, the mother found out there was a hearing problem in the child. At that time, she told the nurse about this concern, but the nurse just told her that maybe the child's development was relatively slow than others.

At the age of two and a half, the boy still couldn't speak. The mother took him to the hospital again for checking. They got the same result reported that the child was developing slow and could not do anything at the moment.

When Muhammad Harraz Firdaus was 4 years old, he was still unable to speak. The mother was anxious and took him to the hospital for examination. The doctor did a scanned on him and found that his hearing nerve was necrotic, and this was born deaf. Therefore, doctor recommended him to wear a hearing aid to see if he can regain his hearing.

After a year later, the doctor performs several hearing tests for him, and the result was that he could not improve with the hearing aid. Therefore, doctor suggested that he implanted an artificial cochlear in his right ear.

After so many years, he was confirm diagnosed with born deaf, and not because of developing slowly problem. Also, he was required to be implanted with an artificial cochlear. The mother was self-blame and self-critical for the huge cost of the artificial cochlear implant.

While she was busy around looking for medical treatment for her child, his husband chose to divorce her. As a single mother, she did not give up, she actively sought sponsorship for her child, hoping that generous people could help her son to returning sound.

Lastly, she found One Hope Charity & Welfare to help to raise the cost of the artificial cochlear implant.
