Urgent Fundraising – Hannah Syuhada (Heart Disease)

Description
“Sometimes when we call her from outside the incubator, she opens her eyes and looks at us. From her gaze, we know that our little girl is trying very hard to stay alive.”
Her tiny body is covered with monitoring patches, and a breathing tube is still attached to her nose. Yet her parents know that this 3-month-old baby has been fighting with all her strength.
Baby Hannah Syuhada Binti Mohd Hanaffe, from Kuala Kangsar, Perak, was born full-term weighing 3.5kg. What should have been a joyful moment for the family soon turned into worry and heartbreak when doctors discovered that she had a serious heart defect shortly after birth. Due to the complexity of her condition, she was immediately admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for close monitoring and treatment.
【A tiny body racing against time. With timely surgery, she still has a chance to live】
Hannah Syuhada has been diagnosed with Complete Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD), a complex congenital heart disease. Without timely surgical repair, the strain on her heart will continue to worsen and may eventually affect her lungs and other organs, putting her life at serious risk.
Apart from the heart condition, she has also faced several complications, including lung infection, sepsis and kidney injury. Although some of these acute conditions have gradually stabilised, the prolonged medical treatment has already placed an enormous burden on this fragile little life.
Doctors have clearly advised that Hannah must undergo heart surgery as soon as possible in order to secure the critical window for treatment.
Her 41-year-old father, Mohd Hanaffe Bin Mohamad, works at a bank and brings home about RM3,700 after deductions. Her 41-year-old mother, Sharifah Norizan Bt Sayed Ahmad Ghazali, also works in a bank and earns about RM5,000 a month.
Although they are a dual-income family, the couple still has to support a household of five and bear daily living and education expenses, leaving their finances already stretched thin. In their desperate effort to save their child, they have managed to gather RM40,000, but it is still far from the total needed for the surgery.
The parents’ greatest wish is simple. They only hope their child can undergo the surgery, leave the hospital, return home, and grow up safely in the arms of her family.
After a home visit and case assessment, One Hope Charity & Welfare has decided to assist in raising the necessary medical funds for the baby. The family has authorised the foundation to handle the fundraising and receive donations on their behalf. The foundation will also allocate RM10,000 from its Emergency Medical & Contingency Reserve Fund to support the case.
