Urgent Fundraising – Low Zyanne (Cochlear Implant)

Description
“She still hasn’t called us Papa or Mama. Every time we see children her age starting to talk, it breaks our hearts.”
Little Low Zyanne, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl from Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, was born with severe hearing impairment in both ears. After multiple consultations and hearing assessments, doctors confirmed that she urgently needs bilateral cochlear implant surgery to regain her hearing and begin her speech development journey.
However, the total cost of the surgery and devices is beyond the family’s means. They can only afford RM10,000 and are now appealing to the public to help raise the remaining RM176,500 so that their daughter can finally hear the sound of love.

Zyanne’s hearing problem was first detected during her newborn screening. At first, her parents hoped it was just a delay in response. But as time passed, she reacted less and less to sound. By the time she turned one, she still couldn’t make basic sounds like “ba” or “ma.”
Further examinations confirmed that she suffers from severe sensorineural hearing loss in both ears. According to specialists, only bilateral cochlear implant surgery can help her regain hearing during this crucial period for speech development.
There is no history of hearing loss in the family—Zyanne is the first case. Despite living in silence, her parents describe her as a cheerful child who loves to smile and watch cartoons.
“Even though she cannot hear, she always smiles when we look at her. We know she longs to hear the world.”
Her father, Low Tuck Fu (34), works as a warehouse assistant at a hardware store, earning about RM3,400 a month. Her mother, Karmen Tan (32), works as a clinic receptionist with a monthly salary of RM2,500. The couple also have an elder daughter, aged three.
After a home assessment, ONE HOPE CHARITY decided to assist the family by launching a fundraising campaign to cover the remaining cost of Zyanne’s bilateral cochlear implant surgery and devices.
The family has entrusted the entire fundraising process to ONE HOPE CHARITY, which will also collect all donations. To start the effort, ONE HOPE CHARITY has allocated RM10,000 from its Emergency Medical and Contingency Reserve Fund.
