Urgent Fundraising – Mohamad Aydan Rizqi (Heart Disease)

Description
A newborn was diagnosed with a rare heart condition just after birth due to a sudden drop in blood oxygen levels. After spending only one day with his mother, he was rushed to the ICU. His distraught parents are desperately seeking RM84,000 for surgery to save their baby’s life.
"Seeing my baby covered in tubes breaks my heart. I can’t bear to watch him suffer. We sincerely appeal to the public to lend a helping hand and help us through this difficult time. I hope he can grow up healthy, just like other children."
Mohamad Aydan Rizqi bin Mohamad Shaiful Akmal, from Karangan Kedah, was rushed to the ICU for oxygen therapy just one day after birth due to a sudden drop in blood oxygen levels and an accelerated heartbeat. Tests revealed that the baby boy has a rare and severe heart defect. On the third day of his life, doctors temporarily alleviated his condition by performing surgery to expand his heart’s blood vessels. However, to save his life, an urgent surgery is still required. His mother, overwhelmed with grief, tearfully appeals to One Hope Charity and the public for help, hoping to raise the RM84,000 needed for the surgery.
【The baby boy's condition is unstable, and he relies on oxygen support to breathe. The doctors have informed that an emergency surgery is needed within two weeks】
During her pregnancy, the mother’s prenatal checkups showed everything was normal. However, at 38 weeks, due to a decrease in the fetal heartbeat and the risk of asphyxia, doctors urgently performed a cesarean section. The baby boy was successfully born on August 15, weighing 2.86 kg. At birth, all his indicators were normal, and he spent a day with his mother. However, the next morning, the baby’s heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and after an examination, doctors found his blood oxygen saturation had dropped dramatically to just 70% (SpO 70%). The situation was critical, and the baby was immediately transferred to the ICU for oxygen therapy, where doctors initially suspected a heart problem.
The baby was then transferred to the central hospital for further tests and was eventually diagnosed with Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Drainage (TAPVD), a rare cyanotic congenital heart disease. This condition is most common in newborns under one year old and has a high mortality rate. Without timely surgery, the mortality rate by around one year of age can reach 80%, making it one of the few pediatric heart conditions that require urgent surgery.
Due to the severity of the condition, the doctors performed an emergency cardiovascular dilation procedure the next day to temporarily alleviate the situation and help with oxygen flow. However, this was only a temporary measure, and the baby still needs further surgery within two weeks, or his life will be at risk.
The father, Mohamad Shaiful Akmal bin Mat Sharrif, 27, is a technician with a monthly salary of RM1,800. The mother, Norshazwani binti Nazry, 25, is a housewife. The couple also has a 3-year-old son. They can only afford RM1,000 for medical expenses, but with the surgery costing RM84,000, they are unable to bear the financial burden and are appealing to the public for help.
After a home visit and assessment, One Hope Charity has decided to raise the necessary funds for the baby’s surgery. The baby and his family have agreed to entrust the fundraising campaign entirely to One Hope Charity, and responsible for collecting donations.
