Urgent Fundraising – Muhammad Afiq (Heart Disease)

Description
Muhammad Afiq Bin Azizan, a 28-year-old from Kedah, was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect at a young age. For years, he has relied on a pacemaker to regulate his heartbeat and sustain his life. However, after 14 years of use, the pacemaker's battery is now depleted, and he is also facing blocked blood vessels. He is urgently appealing for public support to raise RM45,000 for the necessary medical procedure.
"Despite my heart condition, I have always strived to live a healthy life with the help of my pacemaker. I’ve kept up with daily exercise, walking over 10,000 steps each day. Now, the doctors have informed me that the pacemaker battery has run out. I sincerely plead for kind-hearted individuals to help me replace the battery and save my life," says Muhammad Afiq.
Although Muhammad Afiq has a congenital heart defect, he has managed to live a fulfilling life. He built a family, had a child, and works hard to support them. However, in July this year, he began experiencing persistent fever, shortness of breath, and an inability to lift heavy objects. A medical examination revealed that his pacemaker battery was down to just 50%. Doctors have advised that he undergoes battery replacement surgery before December this year to avoid life-threatening complications.
The surgery costs RM45,000, an amount his modest family cannot afford. Muhammad Afiq has turned to the public for assistance, hoping to receive the support he needs to regain his health and continue providing for his family.
【His Pacemaker Battery Lasted 14 Years Instead of 10, But Now It Requires Urgent Replacement】
Since the age of 2, Muhammad Afiq Bin Azizan has suffered from persistent fatigue. He was diagnosed with a rare congenital cardiovascular abnormality known as Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Drainage (PAPVD). This condition prevents the pulmonary veins from connecting properly to the left atrium, causing abnormal blood flow from the lungs to the right atrium. At just 2 years old, he underwent surgery to implant a pacemaker, which has been his lifeline ever since.
When he was 12, the pacemaker’s battery ran out, and he underwent a second battery replacement. Despite his condition, Muhammad Afiq has remained optimistic and active. He grew up leading a normal life, even becoming part of his school’s sepak takraw team. After completing his studies, he began working as a lorry driver. His active job, which includes walking over 10,000 steps daily, helped conserve the pacemaker’s battery, extending its life to an incredible 14 years—far beyond the expected 10 years, much to his doctors’ amazement.
In July this year, Muhammad Afiq began experiencing fever, shortness of breath, and difficulty lifting heavy objects. A medical examination revealed that his pacemaker battery was down to just 50%. Doctors have warned that he must replace the battery by December to avoid the risk of sudden death.
Muhammad Afiq earns about RM2,000 a month working as a lorry driver, while his wife, Nur Izzatul Nadhirah bt Kamis (28), works as a clerk, earning RM1,500 a month. The couple has a 9-month-old baby. Their modest income makes it impossible to afford the RM45,000 needed for the life-saving procedure.
Following a home visit and thorough evaluation, One Hope Charity has committed to helping Muhammad Afiq raise the required funds. His family has entrusted the entire fundraising campaign to One Hope Charity, which will also manage the collection of donations.
