Urgent Fundraising – Muhammad Ammar Arfan (Heart Disease)

Description
“Our baby is currently relying on an oxygen headgear to receive high-concentration oxygen to sustain his life. The doctor told us that surgery is urgently needed, or we could lose him at any moment. Please, we humbly ask for your help to save our child!”
Muhammad Ammar Arfan bin Mohd Faiz Fakrumie, a 2-month-old premature baby from Bukit Mertajam, was born weighing just 1.7kg and has been in the intensive care unit (ICU) since birth, relying on oxygen support. Doctors advised that he must gain weight up to 2kg before he could be discharged. However, during his hospitalization, the baby turned cyanotic at just one month old. After thorough examinations, he was diagnosed with a rare condition called Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Drainage (TAPVD), a cyanotic congenital heart disease. Without timely heart surgery, his life is at great risk.
The surgery costs RM90,000, an astronomical amount for his family of modest means. Overwhelmed with worry and anxiety, the parents have reached out to the community, hoping that kind-hearted individuals can help raise the necessary funds to give their child a chance at life.

During her first pregnancy, the mother was diagnosed with a hereditary form of diabetes and began medication. When pregnant with her second child, Muhammad Ammar Arfan, she attended regular prenatal checkups. At six months, a checkup revealed the fetus weighed only 1.8kg, with insufficient amniotic fluid. Concerned about the risk of stillbirth, doctors admitted her for close observation. Two weeks later, she underwent an emergency C-section, and Muhammad Ammar Arfan was born at 35 weeks, weighing just 1.7kg. He was immediately placed in an incubator and given oxygen support.
While in the NICU, the baby suddenly exhibited symptoms of cyanosis, breathlessness, and rapid breathing at one month old. He was transferred to a general hospital, where he was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition known as Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Drainage (TAPVD). This life-threatening condition requires urgent heart surgery, but only when the baby’s weight reaches 3.5kg. Currently weighing just 2.5kg, his situation is critical, and he has been referred to a specialist hospital for emergency surgery.
The father, Muhammad Ammar Arfan bin Mohd Faiz Fakrumie (33), is a fiber optics technician earning RM2,700 monthly. His wife, Norazlini binti Mohd Nor (33), is a housewife. The couple also has a three-year-old daughter. Despite managing their essential living expenses, they also need to repay a motorcycle loan and pay rent. They can only afford RM5,000 towards the surgery costs. Exhausted physically and emotionally, they have turned to the community for assistance, hoping for the generosity of others to help save their baby’s life.
After conducting a thorough home visit and assessment, ONE HOPE CHARITY has approved the case and will assist in raising the RM90,000 required for the surgery. The family has entrusted the fundraising initiative to One Hope Charity, which will also manage the collection of all donations.
To kickstart the campaign, RM5,000 will be allocated from One Hope Charity’s Emergency Medical Reserve Fund. For inquiries, please contact our hotline at 04-539 9212, 016-4192 192, 019-2322 192, or 018-911 4192.
