Urgent Fundraising – Nur Afiyah bt Mohd Adnan (Heart Disease)

Description
“Our baby is struggling in the hospital, and the oxygen support has already been turned to the maximum. Without urgent surgery, she may not survive another six months... We are helpless and desperate. Please, help us save our daughter.”
Nur Afiyah bt Mohd Adnan, a baby girl from Kangar, Perlis, was rushed to the intensive care unit after birth due to meconium aspiration. She has relied on oxygen support for more than a month. After thorough medical examinations, she was diagnosed with a critical congenital heart defect and urgently needs surgery to survive.
Her 8-year-old elder sister also had a congenital heart defect, but fortunately underwent successful surgery and has since recovered. Now, it is her younger sister who is in an even more dangerous condition — a blow that has devastated the entire family.
The parents, already struggling financially, are now overwhelmed by the heavy burden of RM120,000 needed for life-saving surgery. Their only hope is to see both their daughters grow up healthy and for their family to be reunited in peace.
【The elder sister was diagnosed with a hole in the heart when she was 8 months old and underwent successful corrective surgery. The doctors could not determine why both daughters suffer from congenital heart conditions】
During pregnancy, the mother was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and high blood pressure. At 38 years old, she was considered a high-risk pregnancy case, and a caesarean section was scheduled. The baby was born at 37 weeks on April 7 this year, weighing 2.9kg. Due to meconium aspiration, she was rushed to the NICU. Doctors suspected a heart condition and referred her to Penang General Hospital for further examination.
The baby was later diagnosed with multiple complex congenital heart defects, including Truncus Arteriosus, Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and Atrial Septal Defect (ASD)—commonly referred to as “holes in the heart.” Additionally, she is missing a crucial blood vessel that carries oxygenated blood to the lungs. Her condition is critical. She is still on oxygen support at Kangar Hospital and vomits frequently after feeding, further weakening her fragile state.
Her father, Mohd Adnan bin Raman (35), is a contract cleaner outsourced by the local municipal council, earning only RM1,700 per month. Her mother, Ku Masrainy bt Ku Aziz (38), is a full-time housewife. They also care for their 8-year-old daughter and the maternal grandmother. The entire household of six relies solely on the father’s modest income.
With mounting daily expenses and no savings to fall back on, the family is unable to afford the high cost of surgery. They are desperately turning to the public for help.
After a thorough home visit and assessment, One Hope Charity has approved to assist in raising the full amount of RM120,000 needed for the baby’s surgery. An initial RM10,000 has been allocated from One Hope Charity’s Emergency Medical and Contigency Reserved Fund to kickstart the appeal.
