Urgent Fundraising – Nur Syifa Iffiya (Heart Disease)

Description
"We waited six long years for the arrival of our precious daughter. Her birth was supposed to be the start of our family's joy but instead, it became the beginning of a nightmare. Seeing her body turn blue and struggle to breathe as she cried broke our hearts. We just want her to be strong and survive… and to have the chance to grow up healthy and happy, like other children."
Nur Syifa Iffiya Binti Mohd Shafarid Iqbal, a newborn baby girl from Padang Serai, Kedah, was rushed to the intensive care unit just two hours after birth when she turned blue and was found to be oxygen-deprived while crying. After a thorough examination, she was diagnosed with a complex congenital heart defect and has since been relying on respiratory support in the hospital.
Doctors have warned that she must undergo life-saving heart surgery before she turns one month old. Any delay increases the risk of heart failure and significantly reduces her chances of survival. Her parents, devastated and helpless, are now desperately appealing for RM120,000 to cover the cost of the surgery that could save their daughter's life.
【The Baby's Condition Is Critical — Urgent Surgery Needed to Prevent Heart Failure and Prolonged ICU Stay】
During pregnancy, the mother was diagnosed with gestational hypertension, but all prenatal checkups showed no abnormalities. The baby was born full-term via natural delivery, weighing 3.4kg, and was initially thought to be healthy.
However, less than two hours after birth, while still in postnatal care, the baby began turning blue and oxygen-deprived whenever she cried. She was rushed to the intensive care unit and placed on oxygen support.
Following detailed medical evaluations, doctors diagnosed the newborn with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) — a combination of severe congenital heart conditions. She has not been able to breathe on her own and remains dependent on assisted ventilation in the hospital.
Due to the urgency of her condition, she has been referred to a specialized hospital for surgery. Doctors have stressed that the operation must be performed before she reaches one month of age, as her heart function will continue to deteriorate and survival chances will decrease the longer it is delayed.
Her father, Mohd Shafarid Iqbal bin Shehidan (33), works as a technician with a monthly salary of RM3,500. Her mother, Nur Shuhada bt Mohd Yusoff (34), also works as a technician and earns RM2,317 per month. The couple has two other sons aged 7 and 4. Despite their best efforts, they can only afford RM7,000.
After conducting a home visit and financial assessment, One Hope Charity has agreed to assist in raising the remaining amount for the baby’s medical needs. RM5,000 will be allocated from One Hope Charity Emergency Medical & Contingency Reserve Fund to initiate the support.
