Kwan Zi Qing – artificial cochlea transplant

Due to brain infection, 2 years old baby boy lost his hearing and his family is hoping that the generous public could lend a helping hand to accumulate RM134,800 to purchase artificial cochlea.

Kwan Zi Qing, 2 years old, is from Kepong, KL. Doctors has confirmed that artificial cochlea transplant can restore his hearing but his family is not able to bear the expenses.

Zi Qing was normal when he was born. When he was 7 months old, his family realized that he is abnormally quiet. After consulting doctor, doctor told that he reacts to noises.

But when he is 1 and a half years old, he was diagnosed with brain infection and causing him to lose his hearing. He requires to undergo surgery before he is 3 years old.

Although he is equipped with hearing aid, he is still unable to learn how to talk. If he did not undergo surgery, he might face obstacles in learning in the future. The surgery will take place in UM hospital.

His father, Kwan Kee Meng, 39, is a technician who draws a monthly salary of RM3,800. His mother, Lee See Ney, 34, is a housewife. Zi Qing has a 6 years old elder brother.
