The heart had suddenly stop working and requires surgery so the baby can survive.

The couple live in Kedah, Lim Hock Kee (31 years old) and Peh Sue Fang (28 years old) are both happily welcome their first born baby Lim Hern Yu. On August 22, the next day the baby was diagnosed with congenital heart defect. On the 12th day, the baby heart suddenly stopped. After doing an emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and been treated with 3 cardiotonic needles on him to save his life.

Although he survived after the rescue, he needs to rely on aids and drugs to support his life all the time. He needs surgery as soon as possible to avoid recurrence of heart problem. The operation costs RM110,000, this baby need help and provide him a second chance.

The mother gave birth at Alor Setar government hospital. On the day of the birth, the whole family welcome him with joy and at that time the baby did not have any abnormal symptoms and behave like a normal baby.

When the jaundice test was performed the other day, the doctor found out that the baby heart was abnormal and needed to be examine further. On the fourth day, after referring the baby boy needs transfer to Penang Central Hospital for Cardiac Magnetic Resonance, the diagnosis of heart was very complicated. There was an Interrupted Aortic Arch Type A (IAA Type A), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) and mild Subaortic Stenosis.

After returning to Alor Setar Hospital, the baby boy was observed in the intensive care unit. When the child was 12 days old, the heart suddenly stopped. After the doctor gave emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and 3 strong heart needles, the baby recovers. After the beating, the doctor then provided oxygen mask (NC) for the nose and provided a prostagladin to keep the avoid further complications.

On the afternoon when the heart was in a state of emergency, the parents went to the hospital to see the baby, his situation was normal, his hands and feet were still very lively. At 7:00pm that evening, they received a call from the hospital to inform them the situation was unstable and wanted the family to hurry to the hospital.

Hospital had contact the parents about the baby situation, they were feeling nervous, anxious and scare if their baby could survive. Fortunately, doctor manage to rescue the baby, but the doctor recommends that the baby undergo a heart surgery as soon as possible to avoid further complications.

His illness is a critical congenital heart defect, it is difficult to use medical treatment to improve symptoms, as his life is at risk, and he is a newborn baby, they worried about bacterial infection during the delay, so emergency surgery is needed.

The baby boy Father, Lim Hock Kee (31 years old) is a kitchen assistant and his monthly salary is RM890. His mother Peh Sue Fang (28 years old) has quit her work after pregnancy (she work in a manufacturing Industry before conceived, due to her job requirement she was exposed to chemical elements so she stopped working).
