54 years old single mother Wong Poh Lai and her 15 years old son Nicholas Kong Mun Niq are from KL. In Nov last year, he suffered from cough and during his serious period, he even cough blood. At first,. his mother thought that he has pneumonia and brought him for checkup. He was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal B-cell Lymphoma.
He had underwent 3 session of chemotherapy but the tumour is still growing and had obstructed his breathing and vocal cord. He needs to undergo targeted therapy and then stem cell replacement surgery. The huge amount of medical fee had brought stressed to his mother who has been unemployed for 1 year. As a result, she came forward to seek help from us.

When he is 7 years old, his teacher felt that he is abnormal and suggested his mother to bring him for checkup. He was then diagnosed with Autism . He is able to self-managed, study and communicate with his family but he has obstacles in communicating socially.
In November last year, he was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Her mother did not give up on her but keep bringing her for treatment. After 6 session of chemotherapy, he had recovered but after 6 weeks, his cancer relapsed and again requires chemotherapy.
After 2 weeks, his tumour did not shrink but had increased in size. His stem cell replacement surgery which had scheduled are forced to cancel. The tumour in his left lungs were 20cm but after chemothrapy, it had shrunk to 12cm.
The hospital had planned that after his chemotherapy, he will be undergoing stem cell replacement surgery. Unfortunately, he was admitted to hospital due to progressive coughing and fever. After confirming the relapsed, he requires to undergo targeted therapy to control the growth of the tumour. The medical fee cost RM110,000.
The tumour had covered his left lung. Chemotherapy is now useless against his condition. Nicholas Kong was admitted to hospital on October due to unbearable pain caused by the obstruction of his trachea and vocal cord.
Wong Poh Lai's husband passed away 9 years ago. She raised her son all by herself and works as a logistic admin. She draws a monthly salary of RM4000 but she resigned due to her son's condition. She rely on her savings all these while and is unable to pay the huge amount of medical fee.
