3 babies suffer from serious congenital heart disease and one of them will be having his heart surgery today. Their parents are hoping that the generous public could help to accumulate a total of RM210,000 for their surgery fee to stay alive. The 3 months old baby’s heart has stopped before, the 10 months old baby requires to consume 6 types of medication daily and the 14 months old baby’s heart enlarged. Their parents are hoping that the generous society could save their life by accumulating a total of RM210,000 for their surgery fee.

Ong Zhi Xuan, 14 months old: Perforated heart + Heart Enlargement. Undergoing surgery today
Since birth, he has been diagnosed with perforated heart. His heart has 2 0.26mm hole. He was required to stay in hospital for monitoring for 2 months. After he has been discharged, he requires to go to Seberang Jaya’s General Hospital for checkup monthly. Initially, he requires to take 2 types of medication but now, the types of medication required has been increased to 4 types.
In August this year, doctor realized that the hole in his heart has increased to 0.7mm and there is a slight enlargement in his right ventricle. His condition now is fit for surgery. As a result, the doctor has arranged his surgery on today (27th). His surgery should not be delayed further as it may affect other organs.
His parents are worried throughout these years as he is an active baby. They need to pay attention to him as when he moves too much, his heart may not be able to cope. He requires RM60,000 in total for surgery.
The baby boy is from Kuala Kurau, Perak. His father, Ong Bak Choon, 46, works in his brother’s tire shop and drawing a monthly salary of RM1,500. His mother, Ooi Saw Ling, 41, is a customer representative in a furniture company and drawing a salary of RM2,100. The couple has 3 children who aged 13, 7 and 1 years old respectively.
Muhammad Hafizhan, 10 months old: Requires to consume 6 types of medication daily
When he was 5 months old, he suffered from flu and was transferred to Seberang Jaya’s General Hospital for checkup. Doctor realized that his lungs were infected. After 9 days of medication, his condition did not improve and was again admitted for checkup. Doctor then diagnosed him with perforated heart and large ventricle septal defect (VSD).
Due to his weight and age, doctor has suggested to use medication for his treatment. He requires to take 6 types of medication daily and requires to go for checkup monthly in Seberang Jaya’s General Hospital.
The hole in his heart has increased to 1mm in diameter. The medication he took was heavy and it did not improve his condition. Hence, he requires to undergo surgery soonest possible. His surgery fees cost RM60,000.
The baby boy is from Simpang Ampat. His father, Hailmi, 38 is an assistance surveyor who draws a monthly salary of RM1,700. His mother, Norma, 36, is a housewife. The couple has 4 children who age 12 years old, 11 years old, 7 years old and 10 months old respectively.
Muhammad Syakir Wafiq, 3 months old: Heart stopped before. 6 times blood transfusion
He suffers from progressive cyanosis when he was born and his heart rhythm was inconsistence with heart murmur. He was diagnosed with heart & artery malformation with perforated heart. His life was endangered, and he requires breathing aid machine and staying in hospital for monitoring.
His heart stopped the day before at 2am. After resuscitation, he was saved but his SPO2 level is low and this has caused him to suffer from Anemia. He has been given 6 times blood transfusion in 3 months.
His cyanosis has worsened, and the pulmonary arteries pressure increased. His SPO2 is just 50-60% and his lungs suffer from infection on and off. His condition is very unstable. His surgery is considered risky but without surgery, his life will be endangered. Doctor suggested not to delay his surgery any further and advise him to go for surgery within 1 week. His surgery cost RM90,000
The baby boy is from Karangan, Kedah. His father, Muhamad Faiz, 30, is a motorbike mechanic who draws a monthly salary of RM800. His mother, Siti Haidah, 21, is currently unemployed as she requires to take care of Muhammad Syakir.
