He is not facing speech problem but hearing problem. This has caused him to be unable to speak correctly.
Sew Park Lok, 4 years old, who is from Ipoh is a talkative boy but he is unable to pronouce properly. After check-up, he has been diagnosed with hearing difficulties. He requires to implant artificial artificial cochlea but is lacking RM70,000 for surgery. We hope that the generous public could lend a helping hand and accumulate RM70,000 for his surgery.
Sew Park Lok grew up healthily all these while but he faces problem with his pronouciation. In 2018, his family realize that he was depressed. After his teacher recommended his parents to bring him to hospital, he was diagnosed with hearing difficulties.
Doctor has recommended him to use hearing aid. A pair of hearing aid cost RM10,000 and was fully paid by his family. He was required to attend speech theraphy twice a week and requires to go for checkup in hospital twice a month.
Although he was equipped with hearing aid, it has brought him discomfort. He will remove the hearing aid and throw, causing the hearing aid to be damaged. Each reparation cost RM500 and till now, the hearing aid has been repaired 3 times.
Doctor has recommended him to implant artificial cochlea on his right ear and allowing him to get use to it. He will then be evaluated if his left ear will require implantation.
Sew Park Lok is now 4 years old and he will be attending kindergarten next year and due to his hearing problem, he will face obstacles in his studies. The best option for him is to implant an artificial cochlea but the huge amount of surgery fee has caused his familly to be worried.
Park Lok’s surgery will be taken place in UM hospital and has been scheduled on 5th Nov. His surgery fee cost RM85,000 in total and his family can only bear RM15,000. As a result, they came forward to seek help from us.
Park Lok’s father, Sew Kai Yuen, 41, is a salesman who draws a monthly salary of RM5,000. His mother, Chan Chow Kit, 40, is a salesperson in a direct sale company. She earns a commission of RM2,000 monthly. Park lok has an elder brother.
