Suitable bone marrow has been found but she is lacking of RM90,000 for surgery fee; 8 years old Leukemia patient hopes that the generous society can lend a helping hand.

She underwent her first Chemotherapy when she was 4 years old. After that, she continued her studies in kindergarten and primary. Last year, her Leukemia relapses and her only option is to go for bone marrow transplant surgery. Her 14 years old brothers bone marrow is confirmed to be suitable for her. This also means that there will be chances of recovery.

Siah Jing Yee is from Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. She was diagnosed with Leukaemia when she is 4 years old. Doctors referred her to UM Hospital for further check-up and the report shows that she suffers from Leukemia.

After 2 years of Chemotherapy, Siah Jing Yee recovered and started schooling as usual.

In November last year, her blood test report shows that her Leukemia had relapsed. Beside Chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant surgery is the only option.

She is currently under medication to control her condition. The medication cost Rm4,800 for 4 months and it is fully paid by her parents. Doctor suggested that she requires to complete the course of medication then following by Chemotherapy. After these, she will be undergoing bone marrow transplant surgery.

She has a 14 years old brother and a 10 years old sister. As doctors advised that suitable bone marrow can usually be found among siblings, her brothers bone marrow is suitable for her.

Her brother volunteer to donate her bone marrow to her as he wishes to save her live. They are prepared for the surgery after Chinese New Year.

Family Condition

Her father, Siah Chee Keong, 42, was a contractor and his pay is uncertain. 2 months ago, he found a new job in an oil refinery. Her mother, Pu Mee Ling, 42, is a housewife.

The couple has 3 children. Jing Yee is the youngest and they have a 14 years old son and 10 years old daughter. The family could only bear the medication expenses and hope that the generous public could lend a helping hand to accumulate her surgery fee.
