Due to Scoliosis, she has lost her self-confidence . Her parents truly hope that the kind hearted public could assist to accumulate RM35,000 for her surgery fee and allowing her to regain her self-confidence.
Tan Yun Yun, 15 who is from Terengganu suffers from scoliosis and causing both her shoulders slanted. Her right shoulder blade has a bulge and her pelvic is also affected. This has also affected her heart and lung’s function. Beside her health aspect, Scoliosis has also affected her mentally.
Two years ago, Tan Yun Yun’s teacher realized that she was unable to stand straight and her spine is bend. Her teacher advised her parents to bring her for check-up in a government hospital and the doctors diagnosed her with 38 degree scoliosis.
Her parents felt that her condition was not severe and does not require surgery. As a result, she underwent physiotherapy every night in government hospital and hoping that it could fix her scoliosis.
After 6 months of physiotherapy, her condition did not improved by worsened. Her parents then brought her to specialist center for check-up and the specialist diagnosed her with 40 degree Scoliosis. Doctors suggested her to go for surgery to fix her spine but due to financial problems, her family did not consider about this option.
2 months ago, she went to University Hospital, KL for check-up and her medical report shows that she suffers from 45 degree scoliosis. Surgery is needed soonest possible as she is currently in puberty stage and it may worsened her condition.
Tan Yun Yun’s father, Tan Wei Lip, 48 is a curtain installer who draws a monthly salary of RM3,000 while her mother Looi Yoke Moi, 41 is a housewife. She has an elder sister who is 18 and a younger brother who is 12.
Her parents hope that the generous public could lend a helping hand by donating for her surgery fee and allowing her to undergo surgery soonest possible.
Her parents agree to allow One Hope Charity & Welfare Berhad to take charge of the fundraising of Tan Yun Yun’s surgery fee and also accumulating the donations.
