Since birth, Teoh Chin Chau was diagnosed as a deaf and dumb baby and consequently, he was diagnosed with complicated congenital heart disease. 10 years ago, the birth of Teoh made the couple from Sungai Petani worry as when he was 6 months old and 3 years old, he underwent 2 heart surgery. As he is unable to speak, his mother gave more attention of taking care of him. Sadly, his mother passed away when he was 5 years old due to lungs problem.
Beside having a perforated heart, he suffers from artery malformation. He underwent Modified BT shunt surgery when he was 6 months old to avoid hypotension. When he was 3 years old, he underwent another artery implant surgery. After 2 surgeries, he did not experience any more problems. All these years, he grew up like a normal healthy child but he is unable to hear and speak.
Last year, due to frequent fever, he took medicine and can temporary cure his problem. In February this year, due to high fever, he was admitted to hospital. After a series of checkups, doctor realise that he suffered from heart infection. This has affect his right ventricle. After monitoring for 2 months, he was discharged on 28th of April.
Doctors suggest his father to send him for surgery soonest possible to avoid the infection from spreading. The surgery fee cost RM80,000.
As he fall sick often and could not express himself, his parents need to be sensitive about his condition. As a result, his father did not send him to school.
Teoh is with hearing aid and after this surgery, his father will send him to special school.
Teoh is from Sungai Petani. His father Teoh Lai Soon, 55 is an aircond technician. Teoh’s sister, 22, graduated from a technical school and she is currently waiting for job. He has an elder brother who is 16 years old and still schooling.
His father is unable to bear his surgery fee due to financial problem and Teoh’s past surgery were funded by other charity organisation. As a result, his father came forward to seek help from One Hope Charity and hope that the generous public could lend a helping hands.
Further, Muhammad Nufail Naufal, 3 years old who is from Padang Serai, Kedah differs from serious congenital heart disease (Tetralogy of Fallout). His condition is deteriorating and he is only 11.8kg.
Nufail was diagnosed with heart disease when he was born and doctors has transferred him to Hospital Serdang for surgery. Unfortunately, his surgery were rescheduled for 3 times due to some problem.
The boy’s condition is deteriorating and facing breathing difficulties. He can only use medication to control his condition. But sometimes when he is too active, he will short of breath. He requires RM70,000 for surgery.
His father, Muhamad Fairus, 28, is a technician in a factory who draws a monthly salary of RM2,000. His mother, Norazila, 26, is a housewife. He has a 5 years old elder sister and one year old younger brother.
As 2 families are unable to bear the surgery fee, they care forward to seek help from us and hoping that the generous public could lend a helping hand.
The families agrees to allow One Hope Charity & Welfare berhad to take charge of the fundraising and at the same time, accumulating the donations.
