Urgent Fundraising – Ayra Inara (Heart Disease)

URGENT

100%

She was tested for swelling of the kidney when she was still in her mother’s womb, and she was tested with congenital heart disease after birth. She is in urgent need to undergo a heart surgery to save her life.

Baby girl Ayra Inara Binti Alif Imran from Balik Pulau, who is less than a month old, was tested for swelling of the kidney before she was born. However, after a thorough examination at birth, she was found to have an even more serious health problem – the cardiovascular stenosis, resulting in insufficient blood oxygen supply to the lower part of her body, and she is in urgent need of a life-saving surgery.

This is a race against time. The baby girl is now relying on oxygen assist devices in the intensive care unit, and medications to dilate the blood vessels to survive. However, the medications will affect her kidney, which is already swollen. She needs to undergo the cardiovascular repair surgery before her kidney failed.

Her parents are at a loss. The helpless couple approached One Hope Charity for help, hoping that the public can assist in saving their child.

When the mother was six months pregnant, she underwent a pregnancy check-up and the fetus was found to have swelling on the left kidney. The mother was referred to Penang Hospital to standby for labour. During that time, she experienced pre-labour rupture, but her cervix was not opened. Therefore, the doctor conducted a caesarean section. The baby was sent for kidney examination right after she was born, but she was found to have narrowed heart vessels during X-ray.

Since her heart problem is greater than her kidney problem, the baby needs to undergo a life-saving heart surgery before she continues with the kidney treatment.

And now, the baby girl is relying on oxygen assist devices and medications to dilate the blood vessels, to temporarily supply blood to the lower part of her body. However, this will affect her kidney, which is already having problem. Therefore, a heart surgery needs to be carried out as soon as possible.

Recently, the baby girl has symptoms of asthma, and the doctor needs to add medicine for her, otherwise the drop in blood oxygen might affect her life. The parents will visit the baby girl every day in the hospital, but they have yet to hold their newborn. Her mother can only pump her breast milk and pass it to the nurses to feed her baby.

The situation is extremely urgent. The baby girl is unable to be referred to the National Heart Institute (IJN), or Serdang Hospital, which has been converted to Covid-19 hospital. Therefore, the doctor can only refer her to the only specialist hospital in northern Malaysia with paediatric cardiac specialist for her surgery. However, the parents are unable to afford the RM50,000 surgical fee.

Her 25-year-old father Alif Imran Bin Abd Aziz is a factory operator with a basic salary of RM1,500 a month. Her mother Nor Faizairiatul Alkma Binti Nordin, who is also 25, is a staff at a private dental clinic, earning RM1,000 a month. The couple has another three-year-old son, who is currently being taken care of by his grandmother.

After reviewing the case, One Hope Charity decided to assist the baby girl in raising the RM50,000 surgical fee. Her family agreed to authorise One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising and collect donations from the well-wishers on their behalf.

Family agrees to allow One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising and at the same time, accumulating the donations from the public. For enquiries, please contact our careline at 016-4192192 or 019-2322192.
