He is a normal boy and is able to call his dad and mom. He can walk normally and looks like a healthy boy. He was suddenly diagnosed with hearing lost and had equipped with hearing aid for 3 months. His condition did not improve and he requires artificial cochleae implant surgery.

Doctor had confirmed that he is suitable to undergo artificial cochleae implant surgery and this is his only cure. His parents were devastated after receiving the news that he is suffering from hearing lost. They have to race against time so that their son can go for surgery on time to avoid learning disruption.

His parents can only afford RM35,000 and as a result, they came forward to seek help from One Hope Charity to help accumulate the remaining funds required of RM 134,600.

Chan Zhi Chen who is from Johor did not response to his parents' calling when he was 10 months old. His parents brought him for checkup and doctor said that he is normal. When he attend day care, his teacher thought that he is too focus and had ignored other sounds.

His speech learning was delayed when he was 1 and a half year old. Further, he did not respond to the sound of fire crackers. This had made his parents to be worried. His parent's friend recommended hearing test and had confirmed that he suffers from total hearing lost in his left year and 20% in his right ear.

His parents do not understand as he is able to call them. They then discovered that he learns speaking by mimicking the lips movement of adults.

Doctor initially suggested hearing aids but it did not improve his condition. His only chance of recovery is artificial cochleae implant surgery. Unfortunately, his parents can only pay RM35,000.

His father,32, is a salesperson in Singapore. He draws a monthly income of SGD5530 (Approx RM16,000). His father spend most of his incoming in travelling between Malaysia and Singapore and he was forced to stay in Malaysia for 3 months due to his son's condition.

His mother is a housewife. Zhi Chen is their first child.

After proceeding with background check, One Hope Charity decided to help the family to accumulate the surgery fee required. His parents agree to allow One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising and accumulating the donations from the public.
