Both the sisters suffered from congenital heart disease. The elder sister received her life-saving surgery five years ago with the assistance of ONE HOPE CHARITY. Now, her 14-month-old sister also suffers from serious heart defect and the parents are pleading the public to lend a helping hand once again to save their younger daughter.

The elder sister Hannan Qu Sofea was one of the beneficiaries of ONE HOPE CHARITY five years ago where the Organisation launched a fundraising for her medical expenses then. After receiving her treatment, the five-year-old girl has grown up healthily. She is lively and adorable. Unexpectedly, her 14-month old sister Hannah Qatrunnada Bt Muhammad  Qoyyum was found to have heart murmur after she was born. She was diagnosed with a heart defect but after regular follow-ups for more than a year, her condition deteriorated rapidly. And now, she needs to undergo a surgery as soon as possible to save her life.

The 14-year-old baby girl from Perak looks normal but her heart condition is a ticking time bomb. She urgently needs RM70,000 for surgery but her parents are struggling financially and they are unable to pay for the surgical fee. Therefore, they beg the public for assistance so that their child can get through the hard times and continue to survive.

【Her mother’s thyroid hormone level is high and needs to take medication regularly. Her five-year-old eldest daughter had congenital heart disease and her second son had a surgery due to cleft lip. And now, her youngest daughter needs to undergo heart surgery. Four members in the family are regular visitors to the hospitals】

Her 30-year-old mother Saziatul Idayu Bt Muhammad Azhar was found to have a goiter when she was pregnant with her third child. Examination confirmed that her thyroid hormone level was high and she needed to control her condition by medication. During pregnancy, the baby was normal and the child was born at full-term.

When the baby was one month old, the hospital wanted to check if the baby’s thyroid hormone level was high like her mother. Unexpectedly, during the detailed examination, it was found that the baby girl had a murmur in her heartbeat. She was later diagnosed with ventricular septal defect (VSD) and aortic valve regurgitation (AR). Regular monitors were required to check on her heart condition. Recently, her heart function deteriorated and she is critical condition. The doctor referred her to a specialist hospital, and she needs to undergo a life-saving surgery as soon as possible.

Her 32-year-old father Muhammad Qoyyum bin Zuki was a salesman, earning about RM2,000 a month. Later, as he was unable to afford the rent and utility charges, he moved to Perak and lived at the family home of his wife. He lost his job since last year, and he has been staying at home to take care of the children since then. However, he is preparing to look for new job. Her mother Sazaitul Idayu works as a clerk at the post office with a basic salary of RM1,642.

The couple has three children. Their five-year-old eldest daughter had a hole in her heart and had undergone a surgery; their four-year-old second son had cleft lip and had also gone through one corrective surgery; and their 14-month-old youngest daughter is still suffering from congenital heart disease. Except for the father, the other four family members are regular visitors of the hospitals, and the father always need to bring his wife and children to the hospitals for treatments.

After reviewing the case, ONE HOPE CHARITY decided to help the baby girl to raise RM70,000 for her surgery. Her parents agreed to fully authorise ONE HOPE CHARITY to take charge of the fundraising and collect donations from the well-wishers on their behalf.
