He was just 10 months old but he had undergone two heart surgeries. His heart problem required him to undergo three surgeries but his parents have no extra money for his last surgery. They are pleading the public to help them to save their baby.

Waited for many years before they got another son, the Malay couple did not expect that their son has congenital heart disease. The baby boy had undergone two heart surgeries and his condition now requires him to receive his third heart surgery. However, the parents are worried about raising the huge amount of medical fee.

Baby boy Muaz Aidan bin Mohammad from Jitra in Kedah was born in Perlis Hospital on November 30 last year. Shortly after he was born, the doctor conducted a thorough examination and found out that he suffered from Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), which is a rare heart condition.

The boy has four heart defects, namely pulmonary stenosis (right ventricular outlet), ventricular septal defect (VSD), misplaced aorta and a thickened right ventricular wall (right ventricular hypertrophy).

Due to the many defects in his heart, the baby boy had undergone his first heart surgery when he was 3 months old, where the doctor implanted a stent in his heart.

Normally, children with Tetralogy of Fallot will have hypoxic episodes, and so does baby Muaz Aidan. In a few occasions after incessant crying and making some big movements, he suddenly lost consciousness, frightened his parents and they rushed him to the hospital.

On September 2 this year, the doctor performed another heart surgery for him, where pulmonary balloon dilatation catheter stent was implanted into his heart.

However, it was just a temporary solution. The baby boy must undergo a major corrective repair heart surgery as soon as possible, otherwise his life might be in danger.

The parents are worried about the huge amount of surgical fee as their family is not wealthy. In desperation, the parents came forward to One Hope Charity to seek help.

The baby boy’s 43-year-old father Mohamad Sharin Bin Ramli is a lorry driver, earning about RM1,500 a month. His 39-year-old mother is a housewife. The couple has two other daughters aged 16 and 10.

The father told One Hope Charity that his family is poor. They are now living at their ancestral house in Jitra. The family is sleeping in the living room as they do not have their own room. That was why he and his wife felt helpless when they learnt that their son needs RM80,000 for surgery.

The parents could not afford the huge amount of medical fee. After reviewing the case, One Hope Charity decided to help Muaz Aidan bin Mohammad to raise the RM80,000 surgical fee. The family agreed to authorise One Hope Charity to take charge for the fundraising and collect donations from the public on their behalf.

Family agrees to allow One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising and at the same time, accumulating the donations from the public. For enquiries, please contact our careline at 016-4192192 or 019-2322192.
