URGENT

100%

The 7-year-old boy might look similar to other children of his age, but his heart is just like a time bomb that might explode at any time, as he is suffering from severe heart disease that could not be seen from his appearance. The little boy needs your help so that he could undergo heart surgery within the golden window to keep him safe!

7-year-old Muhammad Ali Farhan Bin Abdul Rahim from Pinang Tunggal in North Seberang Prai, Penang suffers from ventricular septal defect (a hole in the heart) and cardiovascular malformation since his birth and he had undergone a heart surgery when he was just one-month-old. As he gradually grew, his blood vessels could no longer support him. Therefore, he needs to undergo another surgery.

After his first surgery, he survived and grew up as a healthy child for seven years. However, he stared to feel shortness of breath and insufficient oxygen. At a follow-up visit at the hospital, doctor informed his parents that this is the time for him to undergo his second heart surgery.

The surgical fee is RM70,000 and his parents could only afford RM10,000. They hope that the public could help them with the remaining RM60,000.

【After the surgery at one month old, the boy grew up happily and healthily, but his heart could not support him as he grew up】

The little boy was born on January 1, 2014, one month earlier than the estimated due date. The doctor found out that his large bowel (intestinal) was obstructed, and he was transferred to Alor Setar Hospital for a surgery. When he was admitted then, the doctor found out that there was a hole in the heart, his blood vessels narrowed and deformed.

He was referred to a specialist hospital for heart surgery. He was just one month old then.

Since then, he will go for follow-up visits regularly at the hospital. His parents fed him milk through a feeding tube until he was two. Due to his premature birth, his development was a bit delayed, so he also attended speech therapy and conducted hearing tests at Bukit Mertajam Hospital.

In June this year, the boy suffered from shortness of breath and showed asthmatic symptom. His parents brought him for a check and report showed that his heart valve is fleshy, and his blood vessels are narrowed. He required a surgery as soon as possible, otherwise he might suffer from heart failure. At present, the boy does not have obvious symptoms, but he suffered from shortness of breath when he was active or running. He will then sit down and take some rest.

His 42-year-old father Abdul Rahim Bin Husin is a farmer at the agriculture corporation, earning a daily income of RM40, or about RM1,000 a month. During his free time, he catches and sells fish and shrimps. His mother Rohaya Binti Abdul Aziz, 42, is a civil servant. She works as a kindergarten teacher under the National Unity Department, making RM3,600 a month. Occasionally, she will sell cocoa drinks online to earn about RM100 extra. The couple also has a 10-year-old son.
