Muhammad Ariq Mikhail bin Mohd Faizal from Sungai Petani, Kedah, was found to have a cervical disc protrusion during the fetal period. The mother was arranged for amniocentesis. Although the test result showed that the baby was normal, the mother was also anxious about giving birth.
However, the baby was diagnosed with Atrial Septal Defect (a hole in the septum) after birth. With the Coarctation of Aorta (CoA) problem caused the oxygen supply was insufficient to the rest of body and he is relying on ventilated now. The operation cost of RM90,000 was urgently needed to save his life.

Amirah Adibah, a 37-year-old mother, had a routine check-up when she was 5 months pregnant. The doctor found that the child's cervical spine was bulging disc and suggested amniocentesis. The test result showed that it was normal, the mother was still anxious to give birth.
When the due date arrived, the hospital decided to perform a caesarean section for the mother due to the ectopic placenta and the baby's head did not turn down. After the baby was born, the doctor asked the mother to have a look at the baby and then take him away for routine checking. Immediately, it was found that the baby's hand bones developed abnormal and the penis was underdeveloped. The baby boy was immediately referred for genetic testing, but the test report was not released.
However, the life-threatening ones are congenital heart disease of Coarctation of Aorta (CoA), Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) in the child's heart. This also caused inability to supply oxygen to the whole body and thus he needs for urgent surgery. The heart repair surgery is a race against time otherwise the baby will not survive.
Father, Mohd Faizal Bin Abdul Ghani (32) is a software engineer with a salary of RM3,600 currently working in Kuala Lumpur. Mother, Amirah Adibah Bt Rejab (37) was worked as a delivery person before give birth and earned about RM2,000 a month. The couple have a 6-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter.
The couples have already filed for divorce. At present, the father is responsible for paying alimony, while the mother lives with three children alone. They are completely unable to afford the huge medical expenses of the baby and they have sought assistance from the ONE HOPE CHARITY.
