He is a shy boy. He looks normal in appearance, but the scar from his back to the chest shows how resilient the baby is. The baby boy, who suffers from severe congenital heart disease, had his first life-saving heart repair surgery even before he was one month old.

10-month-old baby boy Muhammad Fahim Hazizi Bin Tuah will develop cyanosis and hypoxia after intense activities. During a follow-up examination, the child was detected with cardiovascular stenosis, so he needs a second life-saving surgery.

His 43-year-old father was found to have blockages in three of his coronary arteries, and he had a surgery last year. Currently, he is unable to work and relies on the monthly aid from Socso to cover the cost of living. He can’t afford his son’s surgical fee, so he pleads the public to assist in saving his son.

39-year-old mother from Batu Kurau, Perak suffered from gestational diabetes. She gave birth to a baby boy at Taiping Hospital in October last year. As she suffered from diabetes, the doctor had to monitor the baby’s condition. Unexpectedly, the baby was found to be cyanotic and hypoxia the next day, so the hospital urgently referred him to Penang Hospital for examination. The result revealed that the baby had complete transposition of the great arteries (C-TGA), pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect, which is commonly known as hole in the heart. He also short of a blood vessel that flow blood into the lungs and other problems. The baby boy had his first surgery before he was one month old.

The baby boy was discharged from the hospital after the surgery, and he needed regular follow-up visits to track his condition. During this period, the baby would develop cyanosis symptoms after intense activities. His chest would rise and fall significantly when he was breathing, and his oxygen level was only 50%. In a follow-up visit, he was detected with cardiovascular stenosis, so a second surgery was required, otherwise the child would not be able to grow up healthily.

His 45-year-old father Tuah Bin Abd Latib was a welding contractor. He suffered from angina in 2019 and examination found that three blood vessels in his heart were blocked. He has undergone surgery in November 2021. Due to his health condition, he is unable to continue working. He receives monthly aid of RM988.54 from Socso. After the surgery, he can only do some simple job to improve his family’s financial condition. He now earns about RM600 a month.

His 40-year-old mother Marshitan Bt Zakaria was a factory operator before marriage and became a housewife after that. The couple have another three children – a 12-year-old son, a nine-year-old daughter and a six-year-old daughter.

After reviewing the case, One Hope Charity decided to assist in raising the RM45,000 in medica expenses. The family agreed to fully authorise One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising and collect the donations from the well-wishers on their behalf.
