The colour of the baby’s face would change depending on his oxygen level. The parents must always be alert and pay attention to the colour of their baby’s face to prevent their baby boy, who has heart disease, from dying due to hypoxia. As the oxygen level of the baby continues to drop, the parents worried that he could not survive. They hope that the public could donate RM45,000 so that their 2-month-old baby boy Muhammad Luth Zareef Bin Mohd Fahmy Izwan could undergo a life-saving surgery.

Upon the advice of a doctor, the mother of Muhammad Luth Zareef went for a detailed check-up during pregnancy. The parents were shocked when they were told that the baby has heart problem, and possibly Down’s syndrome.

Knowing the result, the mother was always in worry throughout her pregnancy. The baby was born on July 27. After thorough check, the doctor confirmed that the newborn boy did not have Down’s syndrome, but he has serious heart problems – heterotaxy syndrome, right isomerism, dextrocardia, situs ambiguous, atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD), transposition of the great arteries and double outlet right ventricle (TGA/DORV) and pulmonary valve stenosis (PS). He needs to undergo heart repair surgery so that he could grow up healthily.

When he was one month old, the baby boy from Perai went for an examination in the hospital and the doctor discovered that his oxygen level dropped drastically. He was admitted to the hospital then. At that time, his mother had to be with him at the hospital. He was allowed to discharged after his condition turned stable.

However, it was not an easy task taking care of a baby with heart disease. The parents have to pay attention to the colour of the face of the baby. The doctor reminded the parents to send the baby to a nearest hospital if the colour of the baby’s face changes suddenly.

Although the parents have no experience in taking care of baby with a heart disease, but they tried their best to take care of him, comfort him as much as possible to avoid him from crying too much, as it might lead to hypoxia. However, it is not a long-term solution. The baby must go through his first surgery as soon as possible to continue survive.

The father of the baby boy said that they have no experience in taking care of a baby with a heart disease. They will feel nervous when the baby started crying. They also feeling stress thinking about the huge amount of surgical fee.

The 36-year-old father Mohd Fahmy Izwan Bin Azlan is an engineer with a monthly basic salary of RM3,000. The mother, Syafawati Binti Mohamad Alam Shah is a housewife. The couple also has a 2-year-old son.

After reviewing the case, One Hope Charity decided to assist the baby boy. The family agreed to authorise One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising, and collect donations from the well-wishers on their behalf.
