Life is both fragile and resilient. The baby is fighting to survive, so we ask everyone not to give up on this little life!

Muhd Rafi Ismail Hadi bin Azizan, a one-and-a-half-month-old baby boy from Penang, suffers from complex and severe congenital heart defects. His condition has been unstable since his heart surgery, and he has been in the intensive care unit for nearly a month. Attempts to wean him off oxygen have been unsuccessful, and doctors need to perform another surgery to place a pacemaker in his tiny heart.

Facing the dwindling life of their baby has left his parents heartbroken. Following the surgery, the baby's condition remains unstable, leaving the parents worried about his health and overwhelmed by the rising medical costs. They are desperately seeking an additional RM50,000 for the necessary surgery.

【During the observation period after the first surgery, the baby's heart rate was rapid and his blood oxygen levels dropped sharply. Attempts to wean him off the oxygen machine revealed a weak heart, necessitating another surgery to install a pacemaker】

Baby Muhd Rafi Ismail was born on April 2 with complex and severe heart conditions, namely Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). He urgently requires an Arterial Switch Operation (ASO) and repair of the heart defects to survive.

One Hope Charity launched a fundraising campaign on April 24 to raise the remaining RM80,000 needed for the surgery. The father apply for RM20,000 from his second account with the Employees Provident Fund to cover the medical expenses. The baby underwent his first heart surgery on April 29.

However, following the initial surgery, the baby’s condition remained unstable in the ICU, relying on oxygen and experiencing a rapid heartbeat. The doctors performed a second surgery on May 4. Now, the baby’s weak heart requires a third surgery to install a pacemaker. The skyrocketing medical costs have left the parents extremely anxious and worried. In their helplessness, they once again appeal to the public for help to get their baby through this critical period.

The father, Azizan bin Ismail (44), works as a technician with a salary of RM3,954, while his Indonesian wife, Halimatun Sakdiah (33), is a housewife. The couple also has two other children, aged 9 and 7.

After careful consideration, One Hope Charity decided to launch a second fundraising campaign to raise the remaining RM50,000 needed for the surgery, hoping the child can overcome this ordeal and grow up healthy and safe.

The family has agreed to entrust the entire fundraising campaign to ONE HOPE CHARITY, which will also manage the donations. For any inquiries, please contact our hotline at 04-539 9212, 016-4192 192, 019-2322 192, or 018-911 4192.
