URGENT

100%

Since birth, the baby girl is smaller in size compared to the other babies of her same age and she also consumes lesser milk in comparison. Her parents did not it seriously until she was six months old, when she was diagnosed with serious heart disease during a physical examination. However, her weight then was not suitable for surgery. And now, she is nine months old, and her weight is up to the standard for the surgery. She needs your donations in order to undergo the emergency surgery within the golden window.

Baby Nayra Ufaira Binti Mohd Hairul Hafis is from Nibong Tebal in South Seberang Prai, Penang. When her mother was about to give birth to her on 13 March 2021, her size was too small and was not suitable for natural birth. Therefore, she was delivered through a caesarean section.

She was born at full-term, but after the examination, the doctor informed the parents that the size of their baby girl was smaller than the other babies, and requested the parents to pay more attention to the development of their child.

When the baby girl was six months old, her parents brought her to the government hospital for a newborn physical examination, where she was discovered to have heart murmurs. Hence, she was referred to the paediatric cardiology specialist for detailed examination.

After a check by the neonatal specialist, the report revealed that her heart had two holes and the two atrioventricular valves were too wide. She needs to undergo a surgery that cost RM80,000 to repair the defects.

The first-time parents were shocked when they were told about the condition of their daughter. Although the baby girl is petite, but she did not have any symptoms. She has been very active, but she doesn’t like to drink milk. Therefore, they felt bad and guilty when they learned that their daughter has serious heart disease.

When the baby girl was diagnosed with a heart disease, the doctor could not perform the surgery on her as she was too light. The baby girl must weigh 5kg and the surgery needs to be performed before she is one year old, otherwise, her heart will gradually fail.

And now, baby Nayra Ufaira is nine months old, and her weight is sufficient to undergo the surgery at any time. However, the parents can’t afford the surgical fee amounting to RM80,000. Hence, they approached One Hope Charity for help.

The baby girl’s 25-year-old father Mohd Hairul Hafis Bin Hashim is a technician at a factory in South Seberang Prai, with a monthly basic salary of about RM1,800. Her 22-year-old mother Najwa Fazira Binti Mohd Fazli works as an operator in the same factory with a monthly basic salary of about RM1,300. The baby girl is their first child.

After reviewing the case, One Hope Charity decided to assist the baby girl in raising the RM80,000 required for the surgery. Her family agreed to authorise One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising and collect donations from the well-wishers on their behalf.

Family agrees to allow One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising and at the same time, accumulating the donations from the public. For enquiries, please contact our careline at 016-4192192 or 019-2322192.
