She was diagnosed with serious heart disease as soon as she was born. The two-month-old girl with blue baby syndrome urgently needs your attention and donations to save her life.

Two-month-old Nur Dhia Zara Bt Farid was diagnosed with atrial septal defect (ASD) and patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) since she was born, and has been put under special care at the intensive care unit. She is relying on breathing machine to survive. And now, she needs to undergo a surgery during the golden window, or her life will be in danger.

【The mother had a miscarriage before due to gestational diabetes. Therefore, she was extra careful during her pregnancy this time, but her baby was born with congenital heart disease】

From her pregnancy to the time before the delivery, her baby did not showed any signs of abnormal. However, the mother was required to control her diet and took some medication to avoid miscarriage due to her gestational diabetes. She had an induced labour when her baby was full term, but the doctor found out that baby had irregular heart rhythm during the induction, and the mother had to undergo emergency caesarean section.

As the baby girl was short of oxygen, she showed blue baby syndrome when she was born. The mother was very anxious and worried because she could only see her new born for a short time before the baby girl was rushed to the intensive care unit for treatment and observation. And now, she is still relying on breathing aid to survive.

The doctor conducted thorough examinations on the baby girl, and confirmed that there were two holes in her heart that could not be closed. She needed a surgery as soon as possible she will be unable to undergo surgery if her lung pressure is too high. She urgently needs RM80,000 surgical fee to save her life.

Her 27-year-old father Farid Bin Hassan is a container truck driver, earning about RM2,500 a month. Due to the recent pandemic, his income was affected and could only bring home a monthly income of slightly more than RM1,000. He also works as a part time runner to earn some extra incomes for the family.

Her mother Nor Zakiah Bt Abdullah, 25, was a factory operator before she was married. She later resigned and became a housewife to take care of their three children – a 4-year-old son, a 2-year-old son and the 2-month-old baby girl. As she needs to spend more time taking care of the baby girl at the hospital, her relative is now helping out to take care of her two sons.

The family income is barely enough to support their daily expenses, and they did not have enough savings to pay for the medical bill.

After reviewing the case, One Hope Charity agreed to help the family to raise the surgical fee needed. The family also agreed to authorise One Hope Charity to take charge for the fundraising, and collect public donations on their behalf.
