Urgent Fundraising – Sharvin (Heart Disease)

Despite his hearing impairment and blurred vision, five-year-old Sharvin A/L Pirapagaran from Sungai Petani, Kedah, remains cheerful and optimistic. However, his congenital heart defect has worsened, now posing a severe threat to his young life. Urgent surgery is needed to save him.

Sharvin was diagnosed with a hole in his heart and other heart vessel abnormalities. After spending 40 days in the intensive care unit, he was discharged, but his heart condition has caused developmental delays and a weakened immune system, leading to frequent hospital visits. Doctors have recommended immediate surgery, and his desperate parents are seeking the remaining RM82,000 needed for the operation.

【The father had to take a year off to recover from a car accident, pushing the family into hardship. Despite this, he has persevered, holding on with determination. They now hope that kind-hearted people can help save their only child】

During her pregnancy, Sharvin's mother suffered from gestational diabetes. At full term, her water broke, and she was rushed to the hospital. However, before delivery, she unexpectedly had a seizure. The doctors performed an emergency vacuum-assisted delivery. After birth, baby Sharvin showed no response and was immediately taken to the ICU for oxygen. Tests revealed his blood oxygen levels had plummeted to 1%, and he remained hospitalized for 40 days.

During this period, doctors diagnosed Sharvin with congenital heart defects, including atrial septal defect (ASD) and partial anomalous pulmonary venous drainage (PAPVD). He required medication to manage his condition, with doctors advising surgery when he reached five years old or weighed 15 kilograms.

Now, at five years old, Sharvin has been experiencing difficulty breathing and fatigue after physical activities. During a recent check-up, doctors noted his condition had worsened, necessitating urgent surgery costing RM85,000. His parents can only afford RM3,000, leaving RM82,000 to be raised from public donations.

In addition to his heart condition, Sharvin has eye problems and is hearing impaired. His mother has applied for a hearing aid, but due to the size of his ears, the available models are unsuitable. They have been waiting for over a year for a suitable hearing aid.

Despite his hearing and vision impairments, Sharvin is a cheerful child who loves to smile and pose for photos. His parents are deeply worried about their only child's health and are appealing for help to cover the substantial surgery costs.

Sharvin's father, Pirapagaran A/L Singaperumal (41), is self-employed, transporting goods between Malaysia and Thailand. A year ago, he was involved in a road accident that resulted in broken legs. After surgery and a year of recovery, he now has a leg length discrepancy, making walking difficult. Despite this, he continues to drive a truck transporting rubber, earning about RM3,000 a month. His mother, Endrani A/P Loganathan (39), is a housewife. They have no other children.

After reviewing their case, One Hope Charity has decided to help raise the remaining RM82,000 needed for Sharvin's surgery, hoping he can grow up healthy and safe.

The family has entrusted the fundraising to ONE HOPE CHARITY, which will manage and collect the donations. The foundation will also allocate RM10,000 from the "Emergency Medical Reserve Fund" for this cause.
