11 years old girl suffers from sudden weight lost and she is now only 21kgs. Shreyashini is diagnosed with Crohn Disease and requires 2 years of treatment. Her total treatment fee sums up to RM48,800.

She used to be an athlete who represents her school. A year ago, due to sickness, she is forced to stop being an athlete. Her weight now is only 21kgs.

Shreyashini, 11, who is from Shah Alam, Selangor, suffered from diarrhea and vomiting. She is then diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and requires RM48,800 for 2 years treatment.

In 2019, whenever she eats, she will experience diarrhea, vomiting and stomach ache. Doctor thought that she may have food poisoning and gave her medication.

Shreyashini keeps experiencing stomachache, diarrhea and vomiting after meals. All these while, doctors treated her as food poisoning.

In 2020, Shreyashini's condition did not improved but had worsen. In May 2020, her pain had worsened and bloody diarrhea. Her mother brought her to A&E for checkup. In June, doctor did a scope on her and found out that she suffers from Crohn's Disease.

In October, Shreyashini receives intestine surgery and she is with urinal bag now. Her weight dropped from 27kgs to 21kgs. She will cry in pain everyday and her mother can only comfort her.

Her mother is stressed that she needs to accompany her daughter in/out of hospital and also need to take care of her younger daughter.

Shreyashini requires to consume medication according to doctors advise. Shereyashini's mother, Kala, stated that her condition had improved after receiving medication. After the medication's effect worn off, she will experience the same problem.

The medication cost is extremely expensive. Each month, the medication cost RM4,000. Doctor suggested her to consume medication for continuously 2 years. The medication fee will cost RM48,800.

Her father, Tinagaran, 37, is a supervisor who draws a monthly salary of RM5,000. Her mother, Kala, is a housewife. The couple has 2 daughters. They have no other options but to seek help from One Hope Charity for the medical fee.

【What is Crohn's Disease】

Crohn's disease is a type of inflammatory of bowel disease. The symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, stomach ache and weight loss. etc.

Some patient may experience join pain and skin problems. Certain patient experience blindness.

The source of the disease is unclear. According to previous research, it is related to genetics and it is not caused by food poisoning.
