Father is the breadwinner of the family and mother is the main support of the family. Two mothers suffer from stroke and their high medical fee had brought stress to their family. They require RM115,000 in total for medical fee.

65 years old Tan Kooi Ngo & 63 years old Robakyah had been sacrificing their time & energy to raise their family. They should enjoy their time now but suddenly suffer from stroke. Their children are unable to pay for their treatment fee.

Tan Kooi Ngo had been admitted to hospital for nearly 2 weeks. She had undergone brain surgery and her heart once stopped beating and required pace maker. She needs to wait for her swelling in her brain to reduce before closing her skull. She urgently requires RM75,000 for medical fee; Robakyah requires RM40,000 medical fee and One Hope Charity decided to run a fundraising of a total of RM115,000, hoping that this can help these two families.

Case 1: Tan Kooi Ngo was paralyzed suddenly and found that her brain was swollen. She is still battling for 2 weeks. Her son was retrenched, and the increasing medical fee had brought burden to the family. She urgently requires RM75,000

65 years old Tan Kooi Ngo suffered from cough and hard to swallow previously. She didn't know that this is the symptoms of stroke. In 7th Dec around 7pm, her son realized his mother was paralyzed and white foam came out from her month. He called ambulance to send her to hospital.

She was experiencing difficulties in breathing. Her result confirmed that she suffers from stroke and her left brain was swollen due to lack of oxygen. Hospital provided her with medication to reduce the swelling, but the medication did not work. Doctors are forced to perform surgery on her brain to reduce the pressure else she will only have a 20% chance of survival.

After a week in ICU, she was transferred to normal ward. Her heart suddenly stopped for few seconds. Although she is fine now but the increasing medical fee had stressed out her son.

Her husband passed away in 2008. She has 2 children who is Chuak Ngee Sern, 37 (Accountant in a tourism agency). His salary was deducted due to MCO and he will be facing retrenchment in Jan.

Her second son, 32, is an engineer. He had paid RM30,000 in total but the increasing medical fee is unable to be paid.

Case 2: Robakyah suddenly suffers from stroke and seek assistance from us in the middle of the night. One Hope Charity had worked through the night to review her case and decided to contribute a total of RM40,000

63 years old housewife is responsible to take care of her 2 grandchildren. In 15th Dec around 9.30pm, she was found unconscious at home. Her son called ambulance and send her to the nearest hospital.

Doctors found out that she suffers from stroke and had use Serotonin on her, but the medication did not work. She requires to be transferred to specialist centre for Mechanical Thrombectomy surgery.

Her children hope that she can recover and seek help from us at 12am. One Hope Charity had reviewed her case and had approved her case.

She was admitted to specialist hospital around 1am and surgery was performed around 3.20am. The surgery took 1 hour, and she was transferred to normal ward around 4am. She will be transferred back to government hospital once she is stable.

There is only one specialist centre which perform Mechanical Thrombectomy surgery in North Malaysia. This surgery is the best option for stroke and the chances of recovery is high.

Doctor stated that her she may experience speech murmur as her right brain was damaged. She needs to stay in ICU for 2 to 3 days. Doctors also say that each stroke cases are different and the chances to recover is different.

Her husband, Rosllee Saari, 66, had been serving in Penang Port for 32 years. He uses to work as a ferry supervisor. He retired 8 years ago and drawing a monthly pension of RM400. They have 4 children. Their eldest son is an admin in USM and was married with 2 children. The other sibling is paying for the family's expenses and the huge amount of medical fee is unable to be paid by them.
