To provide warmth to the poor and needy families, One Hope Charity had organizing “Contributions of essential items & free lunch” charity event on 23rd of June,2019. We hope to get the support and donations from the generous public and business. Together, we will provide warmth to 3,000 poor and needy families.

The beneficiaries are from multiple races and they are all from poor and needy families. Some of the old folks experience frequent hunger and some kids are experiencing malnutrition.

This year, the beneficiaries will get a trolley which contains nutritious items such as brown rice, milk powder, oats, biscuit, cocoa powder, grain product, can food, peanut butter etc and angpao.

To avoid wastage of white rice, One Hope Charity has substitute 10kg white rice to a RM30 shopping voucher. This allow the beneficiaries to purchase the right amount of white rice whenever require and the balance can be used to purchase other items.

10,000 sets of lunch including halal food and vegetarian food will be prepared. Each family is also given a set of Mc Donald’s. This allow the beneficiaries to bring along their family to collect the essential items and also enjoying the lunch provided.

To ease the old folks and beneficiaries to bring the essential items home, One Hope Charity has begun using trolley in year 2017.

The event was a success and we are proud to have the chief minister of Penang, YAB Chow Kon Yeow and the finance minister of Malaysia, YB Lim Guan Eng in our opening ceremony. In their speech, they praised us and thank our volunteer team in helping 3,000 families and more than 10,000 individuals in this event.

The participants reached 12,000 individuals and the whole event was in order. This is not only due to One Hope’s thorough planning but also the hard work of all our volunteers.
