A therapeutic smile...

After being discharged from the hospital and recuperated for a month, 15-month-old Liew Wei Jia was completely free from the illness.

Before MCO 2.0, Liew’s parents have also brought us their homemade New Year cakes to us in an effort to show gratitude to everyone for the donations to save their baby.

Liew’s parents brought their fully recovered child to our service centre yesterday and let out a sweet, heartwarming smile, melting the hearts of our staff. Liew continued with his adorable laughs and cheers during the visit to our service centre, as if he was celebrating from his own recovery.

Liew’s 41-year-old mother from Sungai Petani, Lau Chai Choo, was well-aware that she is a senile parturient and she’s always extra cautious during her birth check to ensure that there was no abnormality.

Unexpectedly, her baby Liew was found short of breath a few days after birth. Liew was immediately referred to Penang General Hospital for further examination and was diagnosed with congenital heart disease.

With the financial aid from the One Hope Charity & Welfare, Liew underwent the operation. To date, Liew is gradually recovering and can be reunited with his family in the coming Chinese New Year.
