One Hope Charity & Welfare chairman Dato’ Chua Sui Hau and a team of volunteers visited Chin Wai Kin, the woman who stayed outside a convenience store in Chai Leng Park once again today, and the latter agreed to move to a nursing home for her own safety. One Hope Charity also urged the public not to give her cash, and to check her needs before buying her food to avoid food wastage.

One Hope Charity’s volunteers went to check on her two days ago (17 February), and she said that she did not want to stay in a nursing home. The story of her staying outside a convenience store in Chai Leng Park gained a lot of attention from the public, and many generous individuals also approached her and gave her some cash.

However, this also attracted the robbers. They looted her cash while she was sleeping last night. Fortunately, they did not hurt her. After this incident, Wai Kin changed her mind and was willing to move to a nursing home.

In this regard, One Hope Charity & Welfare chairman Dato’ Chua Sui Hau urged the public not to give her cash to avoid her being robbed again. And at the same time, to confirm with her before buying her food to avoid waste.

Meanwhile, One Hope Charity has started arranging for her relocation to the nursing home.
