When the volunteers delivered Poon Choi to sexagenarian Heng Ang Lim for Chinese New Year, they found out that he was not in good health. The volunteers immediately made the arrangement to send him to the hospital for examination the next day. He is currently hospitalised for treatment and his condition is stable.

The act of sending Poon Choi to underprivileged families for Chinese New Year last year received positive feedbacks from the public. This year, ONE HOPE CHARITY’S volunteers devided into two groups and continued the good deed by sending pots of Poon Choi to the houses of the underprivileged families before the Chinese New Year. A few days ago, volunteers arrived at the house of an elderly man and no one attended them but the door was left unlocked. The volunteers were shocked to find that the elderly man was crawling slowly towards them.

The volunteers discovered that his condition was very different from before – his face was haggard, and the elderly man also confessed that he had been incontinent for many days and had no strength to stand up. The volunteers felt the seriousness of the matter and immediately lodged a report to the office for support.

At first, he was reluctant to go to the hospital for examination as he worried that no one could take care of his blind brother. He was only willing to go for treatment after being persuaded and assured by the volunteers that his blind brother will be well taken care of, and arrangements for his brother’s meals would be made properly.

ONE HOPE CHARITY immediately contacted Bukit Mertajam Hospital the next morning and he was sent to the hospital for examination and treatment. According to the doctor, the examination report revealed that he had lungs infection and inflammation of the liver. Fortunately, he was admitted in time for treatment. He is currently under observation and is in stable condition.

66-year-old man Heng Ang Lim is unmarried. He lives in a wooden house with his two brothers, who are also single. He and his 76-year-old blind brother have been receiving assistance, including diapers and food aid from ONE HOPE CHARITY for a long time. ONE HOPE CHARITY will continue to closely monitor the living conditions of the three brothers and provide them with appropriate assistance and arrangements.
