44 years old Chan Huey Ling & 52 years old Teo Hock Joo are facing hearing issue.

They live in the world of silence and One Hope Charity will contribute them with hearing aid

In this era, hearing problem is a sickness which cant be cured.

They can only live their lives with this disability. Some of them are able to speak but some of them are unable.

44 years old lady, Chan Huey Ling who had been living with hearing problem is unable to communicate with others. She rely on her daughter to help her communicate. After she receive the hearing aid from us, she started smiling as she is able to hear sounds now.

52 years old, Teo Hock Joo are having hearing problems. After using hearing aid for 4 years, he experience noises and had affected his hearing. After receiving hearing aid from us, he can now live his life as normal.

Chan Huey Ling who is from Bukit Mertajam, Penang, was not sensitive to sound since she was a kid. She was diagnosed with hearing problem when she was in Standard 2. Due to the education level of her parents, her parents did not take any action on this.

Until she started working, Chan Huey Ling used her own money to go for checkup. Doctors suggested her to use hearing aid but due to financial constrains, she could not afford. Her hearing problem has caused her to be unabled to speak clearly.

Although her life was miserable due to her communication problem, she stayed tough. She worked as a waitress in wedding dinners, salesperson etc. She is married with 3 daughters.

Huey Ling had came forward to seek help from us. After home visit, we approved her case and brought her for checkup. Doctor diagnosed her both ear were disabled. She requires hearing aid in her both ear.

According to the hearing aid supplier, Chan Huey Ling requires to adjust the frequency monthly so that she is comfortable. She also require to take good care of her hearing aids which includes monthly battery replacement and requires to be kept in a special box with reduces humidity.

Chan Huey Ling is a baby sitter and she draws a monthly salary of RM600. Her husband is a part time electrician and his salary is not constant.

52 years old Teo Hock Joo who is from Nibong Tebal, Penang were diagnosed with hearing problem when he had high fever when he is a kid. His left ear was badly affected and he can only rely on his right ear. He is able to communicate with his family and he used to work as a packaging worker in a factory and as an aircond technician. He stopped working as he needs to take care of his cancer mother.

He is with OKU card. In 2016, he experienced infection on his right ear and his right ear had been affected. He required to use hearing aid in his both ears and the Welfare Department had sponsored him with half of the expenses.

He took good care of his hearing aid. Few months ago, his hearing aid's started to malfunction. After adjusting the frequency multiple times, the specialist had confirmed that his hearing problem had worsen.

His brother will contribute partial amount of the expenses and the remaining will be covered by us.

One Hope Charity had approved his case and will provide him with hearing aid and hope that he can continue his normal routine.

ONE HOPE CHARITY makes good use of donations from the general public to help both of them both buy hearing aids, so as to reduce their financial burden and help them hearing.

We are not only assisting poor patients who need huge medical expenses to raise medical fund, for cases requiring medical expenses less than RM20,000, we have not initiated fundraising, but directly used public donations to provide assistance.
