The deaf-mute father uses sign language to show his appreciation to the public for the donation and support to help his daughter.

The 7-year-old You Yik Hang’s right cochlea was not developed properly which negatively impacted her hearing and speaking abilities. Her hearing aid unfortunately does not help her with her hearing abilities and the doctor identified that she needs an artificial cochlear implant in order to improve her hearing and speech development.

Luckily for Yik Hang, the fundraising goal of RM98,000 to pay for her cochlear implant has been achieved all thanks to your donation and blessings. With the given blessings, she has successfully undergone the cochlear implant and currently under examination in the hospital.

Yesterday (March 16), the doctor gave Yik Hang a medical checkup and found that her condition is suitable to undergo surgery, hence the doctor has arranged the implant of the artificial cochlea on her right ear.

As for her left ear, she only needed to wear her hearing aid and did not need an artificial cochlea.

After the artificial cochlea is implanted, the doctor will make arrangements to initiate her cochlea. Once she is fully comfortable with it, her journey of sound will soon begin.

One Hope Charity and the You family are deeply appreciated for the public donations and support, let us welcome Yik Hang to a new melodic world!
