REESHVINA A/P OM PRAKASH, a 15-year-old who drastically lost body weight to 18kg due to Crohn’s disease, has received RM45,600 from the fundraising campaign for her medical treatment. We would thank everyone for your generous donation, helping her with her treatment and medication for the coming two years.

The teenage girl has started her treatment and medication, which will take place once in every eight weeks. She can also go back with her normal daily life and return back to school, and she could not have enjoyed that without your donations.

Her parents are deeply appreciated for you and your help. Because of her child’s illness, the parents have been constantly struggling to find a solution in order to bear with the medical expenses. Knowing that now the medical expenses have been settled, and that their daughter’s medical condition has been well under control, they can finally let out a deep sigh of relief.

When REESHVINA was just nine years old, she had a sudden loss of appetite, followed by other symptoms such as joint pain, skin rash, bloody stools and diarrhea. Her body weight drastically dropped from 40kg to 18 kg. Most doctors were unable to find the cause of these symptoms until she went to a specialist hospital and was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. Although this may be a rare type of inflammatory bowel disease, it has become more common in Asia.

However, early detection and treatment could potentially prevent the disease from becoming worse. We would like to thank all of you once again for your donations and hope that she could make it through the tough times.
