As the surgery is urgent, Chai Kian Yee could not miss out on the critical opportunity to have his tumour removed before his tumour became more and more severe.

After the doctor’s examination this morning, based on the current situation, he was suitable for surgery, so the doctor arranged for him to operate today. The operation went well and he is under observation in ICU.

One Hope Charity today (February 22) launched a fundraising for him to raise the remaining RM40,000 for medical expenses, which was fully raised in just 1 hour and 15 minutes. Please pray for him and hope that he will recover soon.

The doctor will remove the T12 site with tumor, as well as disinfection of the area near T12 vertebrae, before implanting a vertebral body cage.

Because the T12 vertebrae consists of numerous nerves, the surgery is a very difficult and complicated task, but if Chai do not undergo operation, he will gradually become fully paralysed, then the cancer cells would spread throughout other parts of his body, which can be life threatening.

Chai Kian Yee had been working abroad and returned back to Terengganu in order to step into his career field, but was unfortunately diagnosed with a tumour on his spinal cord.

His family borrowed money for the RM80,000 surgery fee but still lacking of RM40,000. As a result, they came forward to seek help from One Hope Charity. Many generous donors felt pity for his condition and the donations accumulated fast. Hope that his surgery will be successfully and he can continue to chase his dreams.
