A 17-month-old boy with severe heart disease needs RM90,000 for a third heart surgery. However, One Hope Charity will not raise funds for his surgery because a fundraising was launched to raise RM90,000 for another baby boy, who also had heart disease. However, the baby boy passed away before the surgery. Therefore, the donations from the public will go directly to the 17-year-old boy and will be used for his surgical expenses.

17-month-old boy Dhaiyan Qhalish Bin Mohd Fazilan from Kedah was diagnosed with heart problem right after he was born. He needed three surgeries in stages. He had his first and second surgery when he was three months old and 13 months old respectively. And now, he needs a major surgery that cost RM90,000.

The boy was born prematurely at 36 weeks. The doctor found him to be breathing abnormally at birth, and he was diagnosed with a serious and complex heart disease after examination.

When he was three months old, he had his first surgery in a government hospital. At that time, the doctor performed a heart vascular expansion surgery for him. In December last year, he underwent a second surgery where the doctor inserted a stent in his heart.

And now, he needs a third surgery, namely the bidirectional Glenn shunt, based on his condition, in which, the superior vena cava is cut off from the connection of the right atrium, and reconnect it to the right pulmonary artery. After the surgery, the blood flow is entirely from the superior vena cava. The creation of a bidirectional shunt reduces the amount of blood volume that the heart needs to pump and reduce the burden on some ventricles.

The boy will vomit and become cyanotic when he eats too much or too active. The boy also suffers from congenital depressor anguli oris muscle. When he cries, the muscle of the right corner of his mouth will be uncontrollable, and the lower lips will become crooked, and he will drool unconsciously.

However, his priority is to undergo the heart repair surgery that cost RM90,000, but his parents are unable to afford the surgical fee, hence they approached One Hope Charity for help.

His 37-year-old father Mohd Fazilan Bin Ghadzali is a wire technician in a company in Shah Alam, earning RM1,500 a month. His company provides him with accommodation in a warehouse. His 38-year-old mother Arniza Binti Ayob is a housewife. The couple have two children – a three-year-old daughter and 17-month-old Dhaiyan Qhalish.

After reviewing the case, One Hope Charity decided to assist Dhaiyan Qhalish with the surgical fee he needs. However, no fundraising will be launched for him. Earlier, One Hope Charity had successfully raised RM90,000 for another baby boy, Muhd Ariq Mikhail from Sungai Petani in Kedah. However, baby Muhd Ariq Mikhail passed away before the surgery. So, the RM90,000 raised will goes directly to the 17-year-old boy and will be used for his surgical expenses. This is the donations left behind by baby Muhd Ariq Mikhail to give the other child a new lease of life. We pray that the boy can undergo a successful surgery and get well soon.
