As Dhurgashiini A/P Balachandran is in her growing stage, she needs to undergo a surgery as soon as possible. If she received the surgery late, the spinal curvature will worsen. Compression and contortion of her internal organs might happen, which would eventually fail her internal organs. The doctor has arranged her to undergo a corrective surgery on 22 February.

The RM38,000 medical expenses she needs have been successfully raised, hence, the fundraising will stop immediately. Her parents are grateful to the public for their donations and lend them a helping hand regardless of race and let them feel the care from the society.

Her 46-year-old father Balachandran A/P Shanmugam said that when he and his wife learned that her daughter suffered from scoliosis for many years, they both felt guilty. They were also worried that her spine condition might affect her other internal organs. Knowing the risk of scoliosis, they were also at a loss as they were unable to afford their daughter’s corrective surgery.

He said that they were fortunate to receive help from One Hope Charity. The donations and prayers from the well-wishers enabled their daughter to undergo the surgery in time. He hoped that the surgery would go well and she can resume her normal life.
