Viren A/L Sukumaran, a 31-year-old Indian man, works as a truck driver for RM40 per day, while his 29-year-old wife works as a factory operator for RM1100 per month. The couple has two children, aged three and one. He had to wear spectacles since he was six years old and is presently awaiting a corneal transplant. His eye condition worsened till he was 18 years old. His right eye is nearly entirely blind, while his left eye's vision is blurry and unusable.

The corneal transplant was originally scheduled for 2020, however, it was postponed due to the discovery of Covid-19. ONE HOPE CHARITY donated dried food, milk powder, and diapers for up to a year. We also funded his transportation fees so that he could get to medical care more easily.

Before being moved to Sungai Buloh Hospital for examination, he sought treatment at Bukit Mertajam Hospital. He was scheduled for a corneal transplant on April 22, 2020, however, he was responsible for the cost of the corneal transplant. He approaches ONE HOPE CHARITY for aid since he cannot afford the surgery.

The procedure has been postponed again because of the emergence of Covid-19 at Hospital Sungai Buloh, which will be focused on the epidemic. His life was in peril as he awaited surgery and was unable to work.

After more than a year of waiting, the corneal transplant operation was finally set for February 23, 2022, and we also assisted him with travel fees to Kuala Lumpur for the procedure. He can return to work after recovery now that the procedure is proceeding well.
