The first Field Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Penang is expected commence operation on Saturday. It is our pleasure to sponsored drinking water, beverage and dry food for Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) .

It was timely due to the increasing rate of Covid-19 cases, the occupancy of Covid-19 ICU beds had almost reached limit therefore Hospital Kepala Batas has setup the Field Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 30 ATM personnel from Kluang and Sungai Petani would be involved in assisting in the operation of Field ICU.

In addition to supporting them, with the sponsored of drinking water, beverage, and dry food, we also support them mentally. Thank you for the funding from the public for making good use of these resources.

According to them, ATM personnel are expected to be on standby for at least 6 weeks to 3 months. They need to do installation Field Intensive Care Units (ICU) to accommodate 24 to 27 ICU beds.

‘Field ICU’ might be unfamiliar to public, however this ATM in various medical field has been called to setup ‘Field ICU’ during Kelantan flood in 2014 and Fire at Sultanah Aminah Hospital fire broke out in 2016. According to the information, the Ministry of Health (MOH) with the Defense Ministry likely to setting up of field hospitals in Kelantan and Tawau.

Field ICU is built using the hybrid concept. It is expected to have test run on Saturday and fully commence operation on next week. It will be based on demand to partially open for Covid-19 patients.

One Hope Charity also been invited to sponsor the necessary supplies and medical equipment so that the Field ICU can be setting up and running operation smoothly.
