Thank you everyone for your help and care towards Gary, so that he can continue to contribute to the Malaysian entertainment industry.

Gary Tong, a 34-year-old Malaysian musician and singer, was once unable to accept the fact that he suffered from stage IV lung cancer. However, with the encouragement and support from his family, bandmembers, relatives and friends, he started to receive oral monotherapy.

He once stopped taking the oral medication as he could not afford it. During that period, his condition worsened, and he was unable to work. Stopping the medication not only seriously affected his health condition but also resulted to hardship in his life.

Gary is very grateful for the donations from the public, so that he can continue with the oral targeted medicine for a year. And now, the government has also relaxed the standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to Covid-19, where all activities are allowed to continue as usual, so he can continue to sing and perform, or even continue with his filming and video editing work. This will allow him to continue to live strong.

He also promised that he will continue to take part in charitable concerts and performances and use music as a way for him to give back to the society, as well as to express his gratitude towards those who helped and encouraged him. The RM94,400 he needed for his medical expenses have been successfully raised, so the fundraising will be stopped immediately. One Hope Charity is very thankful to all well-wishers who donated to help Gary to return to his normal life, at least to be able to bear his own cost of living.
