“Thanks to everyone for your help. With your help, baby Chui Yu has a chance to get out of the silent world and grow up with wonderful sounds around him.”

Johor-born Tan Chui Yu was found not reacted to loud noises by parents shortly after he was born. After seeking several medical opinions, he was confirmed to suffer from hard-of-hearing. However, he is suitable to undergo cochlear implantation in both of his ears, which would help him in hearing, as well as improving his ability in speaking.

In order to help the boy to get rid of the fate of deaf and mute, his parents recently sought help from One Hope Charity so that he could undergo the cochlear implantation in both ears.

The RM173,600 surgical fee needed by Chui Yu for his cochlear implantation in both ears has been fully raised. Therefore, the fundraising will be stopped immediately.

At present, Chui Yu could make some simple pronunciations such as “ya-ya” and “ma”. We hope that baby Chui Yu would slowly expend his ability in speech after the surgery, so that he could communicate better in the future.

His parents are grateful for the help and donations from the public. They also promised to take good care of their child and send him to his weekly speech therapy to learn pronunciation and speaking, so that the cochlear could be fully utilised.
