A 65-year-old unmarried man who suffered from stroke twice and was paralysed in bed passed away at home recently. One Hope Charity gathered the general donations from the public on normal days to provide the deceased with a coffin, as well as to arrange his funeral, so that he could complete his life journey with dignity.

Chuah Say Teong, an unmarried man from Bukit Mertajam, suffered his first stroke eight years ago and was still able to walk after the stroke. Unfortunately, he suffered another stoke in 2020, and he had been paralysed in bed since then. He relied on his siblings, who are also single to take care of him.

As the elder brother has visual impairment since he was a child, the financial burden of the family fell on his younger sister. She works as a coffee shop helper to earn a living and support the family.

Say Teong passed away a few days ago but unfortunately, his siblings were unable to afford the coffin and funeral expenses, so they approached One Hope Charity for help.
