The pandemic has led to a sharp decline in salary income, causing many families with low incomes caught off guard when facing the sudden death of their relatives. With no cash on hand to arrange the funeral for the dead, the Association had provided aid with the help of public donation. In February and March 2021, One Hope Charity helped arrange coffin and funeral services for 35 deceased.

After the Movement Control Order was implemented in March last year, families who already faced a food crisis have worsened during this period. So whenever one of their family relatives passed away, they did not have extra money to carry out the funeral.

According to the records, Out of the 35 instances of coffin and funeral aids, 21 of the cases were held during February while the remaining 14 were conducted during March this year.

Some of the deceased were once patients who have received medical aid from the Association. They were unable to seek medical treatment due to illness. Not only they sought One Hope Charity for medical aid, but some have also registered with the Association’s “pre-mortem arrangement”, so the patient’s afterlife will be handled by the Association.

The Association will ensure that the public donations received will be put into good use. The funerals will be arranged according to the preferred respective religious practices and by family members’ requests.

The Association and the family of the beneficiaries are deeply grateful for the donations made by the public, so that the poor family can receive aid from the Association in light of an emergency.

If you know there is a poor family around you who were unable to take care of their deceased relative, please contact our careline. (016-4192192/04-5399212)
