Oon Thean Lai, a 66-year-old man from Butterworth, Penang, was declared to be suffering from terminal cancer and died within a month before treatment. ONE HOPE CHARITY gathered donations from the public to assist his aftermath so that he could finish his last journey in peace.

He worked in a generator company. He was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer after he went to the hospital for a check-up due to discomfort a month ago. In order not to worry his family, he did not inform his family.

His family was notified and returned to Penang from Johor when Theam Lai was admitted. Unfortunately, Theam Lai passed away at the Hospital Pulau Penang on June 25, leaving behind his wife, and a pair of children whose ages are 36 years old and 34 years old.

One Hope Charity makes good use of the donations donated by the public thru the "Funeral & Burial Assistance Fund" to handle his aftermath, which includes coffin, worship ceremony, funeral ceremony, cremation, and columbarium.

One Hope Charity has always been providing funeral and burial assistances to poor and underprivileged families. As long as a family fulfilled the qualifications, One Hope Charity would take charge of the funeral expenses, so that the family could give their loved one a dignified send-off.

If there are any poor or needy who could not afford and manage the funeral for their loved ones, or there are any elderly living alone who are interested in registering for the “Promise of the Last Journey” programme, kindly contact ONE HOPE CHARITY at 016-419 2192, 019-232 2192 or 04-539 9212 for help.
