The date of the operation has been postponed again and again due to MCO. The 16-year-old girl who was born deaf had finally undergone cochlear implantation on 10th January 2022. The operation went on smoothly and is scheduled to start at the follow-up consultation on 24 January. She is expected to hear as normal to starts her new life with sound.

Hireneshwari Sundram from Klang, Selangor, who was diagnosed with hearing loss when she was three months old. At that time, the family was very worried about Hireneshwari’s growth that without sound. Fortunately, when she was 2 years old, the doctor confirmed the child was suitable for a cochlear implant. Then, she undergone a cochlear implant surgery and speech therapy.

However, with one side hearing affected her language development, and caused her started to speak at 4 years old. She completed kindergarten and primary school with weak hearing. But this never stop Hireneshwari on her study, she is a hardworking and smart student who studying in high school. Now, she has a cochlear implant implanted on the other side. We hopes that she can better result in her studies and wishes her a bright future.
