A 26-year-old girl, who was finally willing to undergo heart surgery after overcoming her psychological barriers, not only had the operation very successful but she was also discharged from the hospital.

Lee Pey Jing from Ampang, Selangor, is a premature baby who was diagnosed with patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) due to her premature heart development defect. She needs regular check-ups and is then referred to the National Heart Institute (IJN).

Her parents were unable to afford the cost of a check-up at that time. In addition, she has asthmatic and frail due to premature birth but not serious. Therefore, they did not go check-up after one year. She has grown up safely and successfully completed a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance. After graduation, he worked as a secretary in a company with a salary of about RM2,500.

Last year, Pey Jing's condition deteriorated. It will not only lead to heart failure but also affect other organ failures if left untreated. Besides worrying about the huge surgery cost, she also worried about the scar that will be left on her chest, and even worried about the raging of Covid-19, so decided not to undergo the operation.

She finally underwent surgery on March 1, and the surgery was very successful. After the surgery, she was observed in ICU. A few days later, her condition was stable, and transferred to the general ward.

She was discharged from the hospital on March 9. She is very grateful to all the generous and supportive people so that she can undergo heart surgery.
