Liew Yi How, a 25-year-old teenager from Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, had a cochlear implant surgery on June 20 with the help of the generous public. The operation went smoothly. He was discharged after 3 days, and the audiologist arranged to start the cochlear implant testing on July 18. We hope that he will gain his hearing again, and reduce the hardships of his future life.

Although it was late to have cochlear implantation at the age of 25, Yi How greatest wish was to reduce the barriers to interpersonal communication and reduce the burden of communicating with his relatives and friends. He was willing to spend more time studying.

His family is very grateful to the generous public for helping him to undergo cochlear implant surgery, and we hope that Yi How can face the future with more confidence after regaining his hearing.
